My Obsessions!

I just love Linky parties! This topic includes things in life that I just love and tend to obsess over… If you ask my husband, he would say that includes EVERYTHING! I’m linking up with Living a Wonderful Life to divulge what’s on my list of obsessions!

For the past year and a half, I have been obsessed with National Board Certification. I began searching for resources to help me with my journey last February, applied for candidacy in April, and have been working NON-STOP ever since. My candidate cycle will end in ONE WEEK after I take the Assessment Center exercises! Becoming a National Board Certified Teacher has always been a dream of mine and it is something that I have worked very hard on and will continue until accomplished!

I love to RUN! I have been SO upset with myself that because of my obsession with National Boards, my running regimen has greatly suffered. I was in a great place before I started NB with running, and now I’m trying SO hard to get back on track. My goal is to be back in shape by the end of the summer and to run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half-Marathon in Savannah, GA this November!

Toomer’s Corner in Auburn, Alabama

War Eagle! I am an Auburn girl. If you are born and raised in Alabama, you must make a choice…. Auburn or Alabama? Obviously, I chose the correct answer. I spent the best years of my life in Auburn with the best friends anyone could ask for. I was lucky enough to begin my career at Cary Woods Elementary School and I CANNOT wait to move back there some day. Obsessing over Auburn football and searching for my dream home in Auburn consume a lot of my time…!

Poipu Beach Park – Poipu, Kauai

I am completely obsessed with Kauai, HI. My first trip to Hawaii was with my grandparents and my cousin, Brentley, in 2005. We took a cruise to various islands and the one that stuck with me was a little island where Brentley and I went scuba diving, had the BEST burgers for lunch, had a snow cone, and hung out all day in a little beach park. I remembered the island as Kauai (and who can miss all of the chickens running around?), but otherwise had no idea where I was. In the years that followed, I talked non-stop about this place and wanted so badly to go back.

In 2010 I married my husband, Scott, and I told him to take me on a “surprise” Honeymoon. When I got to the airport I found out we were headed to Kauai! After we were settled in at our hotel, we went for a walk on the beach and things started to look familiar…. We stumbled upon the EXACT place Brentley and I had been 5 years before! I now know that special place as Poipu Beach Park and the restaurant as Brennecke’s Beach Broiler. It is my most favorite place on Earth… I feel so calm and happy when I’m there. I hope that we can return to Kauai for our 5th wedding anniversary… and someday I hope to run the Kauai Marathon!

Last, but not least is my web store Polka Dot Parlor! I began my web store in January 2010 and it has continued to grow ever since! It is filled with my favorite things…. stamps, embossers, monogrammed gifts, and crafts… I love spending time searching for new products and adding them to my store! I would love for you to stop by and follow on Facebook!

That completes my list… other than just hanging around the house, reading, watching TV, blogging, and creating items for TpT! I tend to do a lot of that too! What’s on your list? Leave a comment below or link up at Living a Wonderful Life!
