National Board Certification…

I am beginning my journey towards National Board Certification. I applied for candidacy as an Early Childhood – Generalist back in April. I have received “the box” and am now spending my summer reading the standards and portfolio directions. I am so excited (and a little nervous) about this process. I know it will be a journey filled with hard work, but it will be well worth it in the end!

Are there any teacher friends out there who are going though or have already completed this process? I would love to hear from you about your journey!

National Board Certification has always been on my “bucket list” for teaching. I consider myself a life-long learner and this process will allow me to measure my teaching methods against national standards. National Board Certification recognizes “accomplished teachers” who meet high standards based on what teachers should know and be able to do.  Click here to learn more about the National Board Certification process.
